Patio is a traditional Mediterranean garden inspired by the famous Andalusian courtyards. These spaces, which have historical roots dating back to the Roman period, serve as social gathering places where people can escape the summer heat to refresh and relax in a cool, natural environment.
Patio embraces this concept with a contemporary and sustainable approach: terracotta pots, trellises, vegetation, and soil can all be reused and recycled, leaving no trace—except in memory.
In contrast to its initial impression—chaotic and disordered from the outside—once inside, visitors are enveloped by calm and order. Inverted terracotta pots define boundaries, creating a sense of continuity from walls to ceilings. Dappled daylight, combined with the scents and colors of carefully curated foliage, offers visitors a synesthetic experience. Inside the garden, a booklet made of wildflower seed paper will be available, and guests are invited to take a piece of Patio with them to plant, or to share their reflections and inspirations by hanging drawings and written messages.

The Follow Friday team is made up of two siblings, Marta and Fernando Gamarro—Spanish by origin, but adopted by the UK—who have been collaborating since architecture school. Since 2016, they have worked at the same firm, sharing ideas, processes, and even desks for nearly three years before starting their own studio with the goal of helping people solve their design challenges.
