The idea for The Miracle of Quasimodo garden sprouted from Mirror, a short poem by Salvatore Quasimodo in which he describes what he sees as a Miracle: the rebirth of Life from what seemed dead. Something that therefore transcends and fascinates humanity.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Life and Death are the central themes. Which one embodies Order? Which one Chaos? Life thrives where there is balance and harmony, yet\u2014as the Ancient Greeks believed\u2014Primordial Chaos is also the source of all vitality.Death, on the other hand, though associated with disorder and destruction, is also stillness, matter, and crystallized time.
Two twin, opposing gardens create a polar tension that allows the viewer to move between two states, two atmospheres, two moments whose interaction reveals the ambiguity of the ideas of Order and Chaos.
<\/span>One garden is metaphysical, black, covered in volcanic ash\u2014an echo and homage to the Volcano, a source of both life and death. Here, resting on steel legs and aligned on a regular grid, driftwood pieces encircle the visitor like chaotic sculptures, casting twisted shadows in mysterious forms. They are the spectacular result of the clash between chaotic forces: Currents, Sun, Salt, Storms. The other garden is that of the \u00c9lan Vital, where plant life reveals its full force and complexity. Without geometric order, the space is structured and defined only by the plants and their characteristics: color, fragrance, texture, and shape. Their selection was guided by the intention to create a precise atmosphere\u2014an image of primitive and archaic life, tenacious and humble, a representation of the most persistent vitality. There are 28 featured species: through them, the Chaos that enabled Evolution to spread life into the most hostile environments of our planet will be expressed. Visitors can sit at the center of both gardens, experiencing them in a mirrored way and observing from the same point of view the two sides of the same coin.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Carlo Federico and Franco Enrico Serra <\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Carlo Federico and Franco Enrico Serra are brothers. After completing their secondary education in Bologna, they moved to Switzerland, where they attended the Accademia di Architettura in Mendrisio, earning their bachelor\u2019s degree in 2022 and their master\u2019s degree in June 2024. Among others, they studied under professors Kersten Geers, Jonathan Sergison, and Quintus Miller. During their studies, they worked as apprentice architects in the Netherlands, respectively in Rotterdam and Amsterdam.
